The Valsugana, or Sugana Valley, is one of the principal valleys of the autonomous province of Trentino in northern Italy. Leading into the foothills of the Alps, it carries the ancient Via Claudia Augusta, a Roman road that connected the Adriatic with the historic centers of the Holy Roman Empire and the Frankish kingdom at Augsburg.
