Val di Sole

Val di Sole, called Val de Sol in Ladin, is a valley in Trentino, northern Italy, formed along the east west course of the Noce river and its tributaries, including the Peio Valley leading toward the Ortler massif. Its main towns include Vermiglio, Peio, Dimaro, Croviana and Male, and the valley ends at the Tonale Pass, where it gives way to the Oglio river valley at Edolo. The Ortler group and Stelvio National Park border it to the northwest, and the Adamello group with the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta border it to the southwest, while the Madonna di Campiglio ski resort lies in its southern reaches.
