Moso's Footprint is a two meter long depression in a basalt outcrop on the island of Savai'i in Samoa. Samoan legend holds that the giant god Moso left the footprint as a gesture of friendship toward Fiji after a diplomatic dispute, matched by a twin footprint said to exist in Fiji itself. Geologists instead attribute the depression to a fallen tree, whose roots once spread across the rock and worked into cracks in the basalt before a cyclone toppled the tree and pulled surface blocks away with it.
