Volcanology

Processes studied under volcanology, the atlas's discipline for volcanic eruptions and the systems that produce them. Includes Volcanism, the movement of molten rock from the Earth's interior to its surface through eruption and intrusion, and the landforms and hazards that activity creates. Belongs here: a process whose primary discipline is the generation, movement or eruption of magma. Does not belong here: the deep mantle process that ultimately drives volcanism but is studied as its own broader geological process (Geology, such as Mantle Convection).
