Islands of North America

This group collects the Islands and Archipelagos subcategory's members that lie off North America, spanning the Great Lakes archipelagoes of Canada and the United States, the barrier and coral chains of the Caribbean and the Bahamas, Pacific-coast archipelagoes such as the Broughton Archipelago off British Columbia, and Arctic and sub-Arctic Canadian and Greenlandic island groups. The region runs from freshwater lake islands to open-ocean archipelagoes, unified only by falling within the continent's own coastline and inland waters rather than by a single ocean.
