Les Houmets are a group of tidal islands east of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, made up of several named islets including Houmet Benest, Houmet Paradis, and Houmet Hommetol. Their name comes from a diminutive of hou, a Norman and Guernesiais word for islets. The historian Victor Coysh disputed a claim by Victor Hugo that quarrying had significantly eroded the islands, arguing that old maps show they have been islets for a very long time.
