Yilgarn Craton

The Yilgarn Craton is a large craton that forms a major part of the Western Australian landmass, bounded by a mix of sedimentary basins and Proterozoic fold and thrust belts. Zircon grains from the Jack Hills, in the craton's Narryer terrane, have been dated to about 4.27 billion years old, with one detrital zircon dated as old as 4.4 billion years, among the oldest known material on Earth. Its Murchison Province also contains the Yarrabubba impact structure, dated at over 2 billion years old, and evidence has been reported of an even older impact crater roughly 3.47 billion years old.
