The Valchiavenna is an alpine valley in the province of Sondrio, in Lombardy in northern Italy, lying just north of Lake Como. It is traversed by the Mera and Liro rivers, which meet near the town of Chiavenna, and the valley can be divided into three branches radiating from that confluence.
