Val Taleggio is an Alpine valley in Lombardy, Italy, forming a western fork of the Val Brembana system and split between the provinces of Bergamo and Lecco. The river Enna has carved a three kilometer gorge through it, the Orrido della Val Taleggio, between San Giovanni Bianco and Taleggio, and the valley comprises three communes, Taleggio and Vedeseta in Bergamo province and Morterone in Lecco province. It is renowned for centuries of soft cow's-milk cheesemaking, giving its name to Taleggio cheese, and is reached by mountain passes from the neighboring Val Brembilla and Valsassina valleys.
