Val de Bagnes

Val de Bagnes is a valley in the Entremont district of the canton of Valais, Switzerland, stretching about 25 kilometers and traversed by the Drance de Bagnes river. Its upper reaches hold the Lac de Mauvoisin and, toward the south, the Glacier de Fenetre, beneath peaks including the 4,314-meter Grand Combin, the highest mountain in the region. At Sembrancher the valley joins the Val d'Entremont, linking it to the wider valley system of the district, and the Fenetre de Durand pass gives access south to the Aosta Valley in Italy. Most of the valley forms a single municipality of the same name, with the resort of Verbier its best-known destination.
