Vaerlandet is an island in Askvoll Municipality in Vestland county, Norway, covering about 9 square kilometers. It lies immediately east of the Bulandet island group, with the island of Alden about 2 kilometers to the northeast, and is situated roughly 16 kilometers west of the mainland coast of Askvoll, reachable only by boat, a regular ferry route, or a series of bridges connecting it to Bulandet. Vaerlandet Chapel is located on the island, which had about 200 residents as of 2001.
