San Simon Valley

San Simon Valley is a valley in the northeastern corner of Cochise County and southeastern Graham County, Arizona, with a small portion reaching into Hidalgo County, New Mexico, lying east of the Chiricahua Mountains. About 65 miles long and 20 miles wide, it runs mostly north-south, separating the Chiricahua, Dos Cabezas and Pinaleno ranges to the west from the Peloncillo and Whitlock mountains to the east, with its southern end merging into the San Bernardino Valley and its north bordered by the White Mountains. The ephemeral San Simon River flows northwest through the valley toward Safford before entering the Gila River, and Interstate 10 crosses the valley east-west.
