San Gabriel Valley

San Gabriel Valley is one of the principal valleys of Southern California, in the southeastern part of Los Angeles County. It is enclosed by the San Gabriel Mountains to the north, the San Rafael Hills to the west, the Puente Hills to the southeast, and the Chino Hills and San Jose Hills to the east, and takes its name from the San Gabriel River, which runs through its center. The valley covers about 200 square miles and, once predominantly agricultural, is now almost entirely urbanized, containing 31 incorporated cities and five unincorporated communities with a combined population of roughly two million.
