Romsdalen is a valley in the western part of Norway, running about 60 kilometers from the Romsdalsfjorden through Rauma Municipality in More og Romsdal county and into Lesja Municipality in Innlandet county. It is the valley of the Rauma River, and its name comes from the Old Norse Raumsdalr, meaning Rauma valley. The traditional district of Romsdal, covering about a third of More og Romsdal county, is named for the valley, and the main road E136 and the Rauma railway line both run along its floor.
