Osterdalen is a valley and traditional district in Innlandet county, in eastern Norway, generally described as the large Glama river valley along with all its tributary valleys. It is often subdivided into Nord-Osterdal in the north, whose more mountainous half includes the municipalities of Rendalen, Alvdal, Folldal, Tynset, Tolga and Os, and Sor-Osterdal in the south, whose more forested half includes Elverum, Stor-Elvdal, Engerdal, Trysil and Amot. Historically, Osterdalen also included Sarna and Idre, areas that are now part of Sweden.
