The Mawson Glacier is a large glacier on the coast of Victoria Land in East Antarctica, flowing east from the Antarctic Plateau toward the Ross Sea past Trinity Nunatak and the Kirkwood Range, and reaching a length of about thirty five nautical miles before forming the Nordenskjold Ice Tongue where it meets the sea. It was first mapped during the British Antarctic Expedition of 1907 to 1909 and named for the expedition physicist, Douglas Mawson, who went on to lead two further Antarctic expeditions in 1911-14 and 1929-31.
