Maridalen is a valley in the north of Oslo, Norway, just above the suburb of Kjelsas, with a very low population density despite lying within the Oslo city limits. It is made up largely of the lake Maridalsvannet, the primary source of drinking water for 90 percent of Oslo's population, and it holds Oslo's only hydroelectric power station, at Brekke.
