Målselvdalen is a valley in Målselv Municipality, Troms county, Norway, roughly 60 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide, through which the river Målselva flows westward before turning north to reach the sea at Målselvfjorden, an inlet of the larger Malangen fjord. Its main population centers are Bardufoss, Andselv and Skjold, and most residents of Målselv Municipality live within the valley. It was settled comparatively late, in the final decades of the eighteenth century, by farmers who came north from the Østerdalen and Gudbrandsdalen valleys under the encouragement of the bailiff Jens Holmboe.
