The Hochelaga Archipelago is a group of about 320 islands at the confluence of the Saint Lawrence and Ottawa rivers in southwestern Quebec, Canada, encompassing the island of Montreal and Ile Jesus and first recorded by the French explorer Jacques Cartier in 1535. Its highest point, Mount Royal, rises 234 meters above the surrounding cluster of low lying islands that mark this stretch of river confluence.
