The Glen of the Downs is a wooded valley in North County Wicklow, Ireland, lying between the villages of Kilmacanogue and Kilpedder south of Dublin, with views north to the Great and Little Sugar Loaf hills. About 2 kilometers long and covering some 146 acres, the glen was carved by meltwater from a glacial ice sheet, and its quartzite bedrock matches that of the nearby Sugar Loaf hills. The Three Trouts River runs through the valley floor, which also carries the N11 dual carriageway, completed in 2003, and the glen is protected as a Nature Reserve and Special Area of Conservation for its broadleaf woodland of oak, cherry, rowan and ash.
