Glen Affric is a valley in the Highland region of northern Scotland, southwest of the village of Cannich and about 15 miles west of Loch Ness. The River Affric runs the length of the glen, passing through Loch Affric and Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin, and the surrounding 145 square kilometers hold the third-largest surviving stand of ancient Caledonian pinewood in Scotland along with lochs, moorland and mountains. It has been a national nature reserve since 2002 and also carries Caledonian Forest Reserve and national scenic area status; beyond the public road at the head of Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin, only rough tracks and footpaths continue further into the glen.
