Gastern Valley (Gasterntal) is a valley near Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, with its rear basin at about 1,600 meters elevation and its exit at about 1,350 meters, drained by the Kander river. It is inhabited only during the summer months, though its rear section, called Selden, once supported year-round residents and offered two inns for travelers crossing the mountain passes; the Lötschberg Tunnel and Lötschberg Base Tunnel both run beneath the valley floor.
