The Elaphiti Islands, or the Elaphites, are a small archipelago of several islands stretching northwest of Dubrovnik in the Adriatic Sea, with a total land area of about 30 square kilometers and a population of 850. The islands are covered with characteristic Mediterranean evergreen vegetation and draw large numbers of tourists in the summer for their beaches and scenery.
