Cogne Valley

The Cogne Valley is a U-shaped valley in the Aosta Valley region of northern Italy, part of the drainage basin of the Dora Baltea river. Four tributary valleys, the Valnontey, which leads toward Gran Paradiso, the Grauson Valley, the Urtier Valley, and the Valeille, join to form its main channel, which is drained by the Grand Eyvia stream before it meets the Dora Baltea near Aymavilles. The municipality of Cogne, which gives the valley its name, covers nearly the entire valley floor, and most of the valley lies within Gran Paradiso National Park.
