Chili Gulch, also spelled Chile Gulch, is a five mile gulch in Calaveras County, California, along State Route 49 south of Mokelumne Hill. It was the richest placer mining area in the county, taking its name from the Chilean miners who worked it in 1848 and 1849 and were driven out in the so called Chilean War; the largest known quartz crystals in the district were later recovered from a mine on the south side of the gulch. It is designated California Historical Landmark No. 265.
