The Chilean Central Valley, also called the Intermediate Depression or Longitudinal Valley, is a depression running north to south between the Chilean Coastal Range and the Andes. It extends from the border with Peru to Puerto Montt in southern Chile and contains many of the country's most populous cities, including Santiago, Temuco, Rancagua, Talca and Chillan.
