Central Sava Valley

The Central Sava Valley is a valley in the Sava Hills and a geographic region along the Sava River in central Slovenia, now forming the Central Sava Statistical Region made up of the municipalities of Zagorje ob Savi, Trbovlje, and Hrastnik. The valley is bounded by the Sava Hills, with Kum rising on the right bank of the Sava and Black Peak on Cemsenik Pasture on the left bank as its highest points, and it was long a center of coal mining, with the Trbovlje-Hrastnik Mine now the only one of its collieries still operating.
