Brierdene, or Brier Dene, is a small valley through which the Brierdene Burn flows down to its mouth at Whitley Bay in England, partly occupied in the past by a coal mine of which little now remains. Part of the valley now forms the Brierdene Community Green Space and Wildlife Site, home to more than 1,000 identified organisms across an ecologically diverse meadow, restored largely through the work of the volunteer group Friends of Brierdene.
