The Bertie Group is a Late Silurian sequence of dolostone layers exposed across parts of southern Ontario and western New York, roughly four hundred and twenty three million years old, notable for the Fiddlers Green Formation within it, which preserves eurypterids, the extinct sea scorpions, in some of the largest and most diverse assemblages known, alongside other marine invertebrates. The group's fossil beds have made it a long studied source for understanding these ancient predatory arthropods.
