Avra Valley is a valley about 50 miles (80 km) long running northwest to southeast along the west side of Tucson, Arizona, in the Sonoran Desert across Pima and Pinal counties. It is bounded by the Tucson Mountains to the east and by the Silver Bell, Waterman, Roskruge and Sierrita Mountains to the west, is roughly 10 miles wide at some points, and its center-west point is marked by Cocoraque Butte at 2,758 feet. Its northern end merges with the floodplain of the northwestern Santa Cruz River near where it joins the Gila River, and Interstate 10 crosses its northern section.
