Magmatism is the emplacement of magma within and at the surface of the outer layers of a terrestrial planet, where it solidifies as igneous rocks. It covers the whole chain from the production of magma, through its intrusion into the crust, to its extrusion as lava, with volcanism as its surface expression. On Earth magma forms by partial melting of silicate rocks in the mantle or in the continental or oceanic crust, and its character depends on the tectonic setting: mostly calc-alkaline magmatism along arcs above subduction zones, basaltic magmatism at mid-ocean ridges and hotspots, and bimodal magmatism in continental rifts. Magmatism is one of the main processes responsible for mountain building, and the igneous rocks it leaves behind are the usual evidence that it took place.

Lead
The nature of magmatism depends on the tectonic setting.
Associated With: Mid-ocean ridge, Lead, mid-ocean ridges
basaltic magmatism is found at mid-ocean ridges during sea-floor spreading at divergent plate boundaries
Associated With: Seamount, Hotspots
This type of magmatism forms volcanic seamounts or oceanic islands when they become emergent.

Wikimedia FoundationCauses: Apatite, GeologyQuote, Causes: Apatite, Geology
Apatite is very common as an accessory mineral in igneous and metamorphic rocks, where it is the most common phosphate mineral.

It also occurs in low-silica igneous syenite and nepheline syenite intrusives.
View the Source Feldspar (Wikipedia)
Wikimedia FoundationCauses: Feldspar, LeadQuote, Causes: Feldspar, Lead
Feldspars crystallize from magma as both intrusive and extrusive igneous rocks and are also present in many types of metamorphic rock.

Forsterite-rich olivine is a common crystallization product of mantle-derived magma.

Mg-rich olivine crystallizes from magma that is rich in magnesium and low in silica.

Orthoclase is a common constituent of most granites and other felsic igneous rocks and often forms huge crystals and masses in pegmatite.
View the Source Pyrite (Wikipedia)
Causes: Pyrite, OccurrenceQuote, Causes: Pyrite, Occurrence
It is a common accessory mineral in igneous rocks, where it also occasionally occurs as larger masses arising from an immiscible sulfide phase in the original magma.
View the Source Quartz (Wikipedia)
Wikimedia FoundationCauses: Quartz, OccurrenceQuote, Causes: Quartz, Occurrence
While the majority of quartz crystallizes from molten magma, quartz also chemically precipitates from hot hydrothermal veins as gangue, sometimes with ore minerals such as gold, silver and copper.

It also occurs as a primary mineral in rare mafic igneous rocks
