Sedimentary Plateaus and Highlands

Plateaus and upland regions built from layered sedimentary rock, including clay plateaus, sandstone tablelands and highland parks cut by escarpments. A landform belongs here when its cited article describes a plateau or upland of sedimentary rock. It excludes salt flats, lowland plains and volcanic plateaus. Their flat tops and cliff edges follow the tough layers in the rock sequence, and rivers cut deep valleys into them.
