Thomas Sheppard

Thomas Sheppard (October 2, 1876, died February 18, 1945) was a British museum curator and amateur geologist who founded several museums in Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, including Wilberforce House in 1906, the Pickering Park Museum of Fisheries and Shipping in 1912, a Commerce and Transport Museum in 1925, the Mortimer Museum in 1929, and a Railway Museum in 1933. His collections now form parts of modern Hull institutions, including the Hull Maritime Museum and the Streetlife Museum of Transport. He received the Geological Society of London' s Lyell Award and multiple honorary life memberships.
