Luna Bergere Leopold was a leading American geomorphologist and hydrologist, and the son of the conservationist Aldo Leopold. He is widely known in his field for his work in fluvial geomorphology, including the book Fluvial Processes in Geomorphology that he wrote with Gordon Wolman and John Miller, and he argued that water resource management needs to be grounded in geologic, geographic and climatic factors rather than economic and political considerations alone.
