Prince Boris Borisovich Golitsyn was a Russian Empire physicist who invented the first electromagnetic seismograph in 1906. He became a foundational figure in the field of seismology, served as president of the International Seismological Association beginning in 1911, and was elected to the Royal Society in 1916.
