Anthony Hallam, also known as Tony Hallam (December 23, 1933, died October 23, 2017), was a British geologist, palaeontologist and writer. His research centered on the Jurassic Period, including stratigraphy, sea level changes and palaeontology, and he also studied mass extinctions, especially the end-Triassic event. Educated at the University of Cambridge, he served as Lapworth Professor of Geology at the University of Birmingham from 1977 to 1999, and received the Geological Society of London' s Lyell Medal in 1990 and Lapworth Medal in 2007.
