The wet season is the time of year when most of a region's average annual rainfall occurs, generally lasting at least one month and sometimes called the rainy season or monsoon season. Some tourist authorities use the term green season as an alternative. Wet seasons occur across tropical and subtropical regions of the world, where they alternate with a corresponding dry season, and the timing and length of the wet season strongly shapes agriculture, water supply and ecology in the regions where it occurs.
