Season

A season is a division of the year based on changes in weather, ecology and the number of daylight hours in a given region. On Earth, seasons result from the planet's axial tilt as it orbits the Sun, which changes the angle and intensity of sunlight reaching a given location through the year. Temperate and polar regions generally experience four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter, while tropical regions are often described instead by wet and dry seasons. The changing conditions through the year prompt many animals to migrate or hibernate and many plants to enter dormancy.
