Earthlight

Meteorology

Earthlight is the diffuse sunlight reflected from the Earth's surface and clouds back out into space. This earthshine produces the Moon's faint ashen glow, the dim illumination visible across the otherwise unlit portion of the Moon's disc from indirect sunlight reflected by the Earth.
