Sapudi Islands

The Sapudi Islands are a group of 14 islands in the Java Sea, part of the Greater Sunda Islands, lying between Madura Island and the Kangean Islands of Indonesia. Administered under Sumenep Regency in East Java province and organized into three districts, the islands cover about 167.38 square kilometers and recorded a population of 82,024 in 2010, rising to 85,284 by 2020 before an estimated decline to 77,153 by mid-2022; the local Sapudi dialect of Madurese is spoken across the islands.
