Upernavik Archipelago

The Upernavik Archipelago is a vast coastal archipelago in the Avannaata municipality of northwestern Greenland, stretching about 350 kilometers along the shore of northeastern Baffin Bay from the Sigguup Nunaa peninsula in the south to Melville Bay in the north. Its deeply indented, mountainous coastline includes the largest island, Nutaarmiut, along with Maniitsoq and Qeqertaq, and the Greenland ice sheet reaches the sea across Melville Bay at its northern edge. Roughly ten settlements are scattered across the archipelago's length.
