Upper Weser Valley

Valleys

The Upper Weser Valley is a roughly 200 kilometer stretch of the Weser river valley in central Germany, cut through the Weser Uplands between Hann. Munden and Minden and crossing Lower Saxony, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia. The valley runs north through the uplands before bending northwest south of the Suntel and Weser Hills, ending where the Weser breaks through the Wiehen and Weser Hills at the Porta Westfalica gorge onto the North German Plain. Parts of the valley lie within the Solling-Vogler nature park in the south and the Weser Uplands Schaumburg-Hamelin nature park in the north.
