Zhijin Cave is a karst limestone cave near Minzhai Village in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province, China, extending some 13.5 kilometers across three levels and covering a total area of about seven square kilometers. It holds the largest unsupported roof span of any known cave in the world, with chambers reaching up to one hundred meters in height, and contains more than 120 crystal formations, stalactites and other mineral structures, including the Silver Rain Tree, a seventeen meter tall crystal formation shaped like a flowering tree. Originally known as Daji Cave, it was discovered in 1980 and designated a national level tourist site in 1988, and now anchors a larger scenic area of 307 square kilometers that also includes Zhijin's old town and the Luojie River.
