Yabakei is a gorge spanning the municipalities of Kusu and Nakatsu in Oita Prefecture, Japan, designated a nationally recognized Place of Scenic Beauty and located within Yaba-Hita-Hikosan Quasi-National Park; it was named one of the 100 Landscapes of Japan during the Showa era. The area was formerly the separate town of Yabakei before merging into Nakatsu in 2005. On 11 April 2018, landslides struck the surrounding mountain slopes despite the absence of rain, burying three houses and killing six people.
