Tsaneri Glacier

Tsaneri is a valley glacier on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus in the Svaneti region of Georgia, originating at and above the source of the Mulkhra river and running 11.2 kilometers with a surface area of 28.8 square kilometers. It has two branches fed by glaciers on the slopes of Mount Tikhtengeni, Lalveri, Tetnuldi, and Gistola. In the 19th century it was the second largest glacier in Georgia after the Tviberi Glacier, and combined with the connected Nageba Glacier it covered about 48.9 square kilometers on an 1887 map, but by 2014 it had shrunk and split into a southern section of 12.6 square kilometers and a northern section of 11.5 square kilometers.
