The Trango Towers are a family of granite rock towers in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, situated north of the Baltoro Glacier as part of the Baltoro Muztagh, a subrange of the Karakoram. Their sheer granite faces rank among the largest cliffs on Earth and draw climbers for some of the most challenging big-wall climbing anywhere, and the highest point in the group, Great Trango Tower, reaches about 6,286 meters, its east face carrying the world's greatest nearly vertical rock drop.
