The Torridon Group, often called the Torridonian, is a sequence of Mesoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic sedimentary rock exposed along the coast of northwest Scotland and the Inner Hebrides, from the Isle of Mull to Cape Wrath, dated to roughly 1,100 to 544 million years old. It lies unconformably on the older Lewisian basement rock and beneath Cambrian strata, making it a key reference sequence for Precambrian Scotland. Recent research places it within a wider Wester Ross Supergroup whose detrital zircon signatures resemble those of the Morar Group of the Moine sequence, tying it to the Grenville mountain-building episode.
