Tarfala Valley lies in Kiruna Municipality, Norrbotten County, in northern Sweden, and is fed by several glaciers that descend into it, including Storglaciären, near the peak of Kebnekaise. The valley is home to the Tarfala research station, where glaciological research has been carried out continuously since 1946, making it one of the longest-running centers for glacier study in the world. It is also known by the Swedish names Tarfaladalen and Tarfalavagge and the Northern Sami name Darfalvággi.
