The Taku Glacier is a tidewater glacier in Taku Inlet in the U.S. state of Alaska, just southeast of Juneau, largely within the Tongass National Forest. It is recognized as the deepest and thickest known alpine temperate glacier in the world, measured at 4,845 feet thick and about 58 kilometers long. It carried the names Schultze Glacier and Foster Glacier before the local Tlingit name Taku became its permanent name.
