Svartisen comprises two glaciers in Nordland county, Norway. One of them, Vestisen, covers 221 square kilometers, making it the second largest glacier on the Norwegian mainland, while the other, the outlet glacier Engabreen, descends to just 20 meters above sea level, the lowest point reached by any glacier on mainland Europe.
